Edward J. Zampella, M.D., FAANS(L), FACS is recognized as a leader in neurological surgery in the Northeast region. After his retirement from the clinical practice of neurosurgery, Dr. Zampella accepted a position as the first ever Neuroscience Service Line Chief at Summit Medical Group at Berkeley Heights in New Jersey.

In his position as Service Line Chief, Dr. Zampella will devote his full efforts to building the Summit Medical Group Neuroscience Center. He will not have a clinical practice. Among his responsibilities will be establishing a Comprehensive Spine Program, and organizing the Summit Medical Group neurologists, orthopedic spine surgeons, neurological surgeons, rehabilitation medical and pain management specialists, as well as chiropractic physicians and physical therapists, to work closely together in the diagnosis and treatment of spinal disorders.

With the addition of new physicians and advanced clinical practitioners in various sub-specialties, Summit Medical Group intends to become the single best practice in the New York/New Jersey region for patients suffering from illness of the nervous system.
