Michael J. Sullivan, M.D., board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and fellowship-trained hand and wrist surgery specialist, practices at Summit Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Surgery in Brunswick and St. Simons Island. He earned his medical degree from the University of California at Irvine and completed a general surgical internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at TuLn. University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He finished a fellowship in hand and wrist surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Sullivan practices general orthopaedics, specializing in hand, wrist and elbow surgeries. He utilizes nonsurgical and surgical techniques to treat a variety of conditions, including fracture management, tendon and nerve repair, nerve compression syndromes, tendonitis and all types of arthritis. A talented and dedicated physician, Dr. Sullivan enjoys interacting with patients as well as coordinating patient care with nurses, radiologic and surgical technologists, and physical and occupational therapists to ensure optimal outcomes for his patients. Originally from Los Angeles, California, Dr. Sullivan joined Summit Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Surgery in 1999. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. In addition to his work at the Health System, he is also a clinical assistant professor with the Department of Orthopaedics at Augusta University School of Medicine. When Dr. Sullivan isn’t practicing medicine he enjoys spending time with his wife and children.
