About

Dr. Preston Panicco will be joining San Antonio Podiatry Associates in mid-October this year. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Panicco earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University, and his podiatric medical degree at Kent State University in 2016. He completed a three-year residency in both diabetic limb salvage and reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Panicco furthered his medical training by completing an extensive one-year fellowship in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery at the Foot and Ankle Institute of Desert Orthopaedic Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Throughout his tenure at the Foot and Ankle Institute, Dr. Panicco worked under the tutelage of highly distinguished foot and ankle orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Troy S. Watson. This training afforded exposure in a highly specialized setting, combining both nonoperative and operative treatment methods in a high volume clinical arena. The focus of Dr. Pannicco’s training centered on adult complex forefoot, hindfoot, and ankle reconstruction, sports related pathology, arthroscopy, and limb salvage. He also had the privilege of helping to treat collegiate athletes and professionals from the NFL, NHL, and UFC.

Dr. Panicco is extensively trained in nonoperative and operative management of conditions affecting the foot and ankle, and has advanced surgical training in the treatment of:

Foot and ankle trauma

Primary and revision ankle arthrodesis

Complex deformity reconstruction of the forefoot and hindfoot

Ankle arthroscopy

Sports medicine

Diabetic limb salvage

Dr. Panicco will be moving to San Antonio in October 2020 and looks forward to dedicating himself to improving the quality of patient outcomes. Beyond patient care, he enjoys weightlifting, fitness, boating and hiking. He is also an avid Pittsburgh sports fan.
