Dr. Guyton is the Division Chief of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and the Fellowship Director, at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital. He is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon, fellowship trained in foot and ankle reconstruction. Dr. Guyton sees patients in Timonium, Hunt Valley, Bel Air, and at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore.
As a nationally-renowned researcher, he reviews submissions to medical journals including: Foot & Ankle International, Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, and the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He also serves on the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery’s Question Writing Task Force, where he is responsible for drafting foot and ankle questions that all orthopaedic surgeons in the United States must answer to become board certified. He is also a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society and the Orthopaedic Foot Club.
Dr. Guyton is highly educated, having completed medical school at Harvard and a fellowship regarded at the time as the most prestigious in the country. His clinical interests include arthroscopic surgery for ligament, tendon and cartilage injuries, total ankle replacement, neuromuscular disorders, and minimally invasive surgery for severe bunions. He has dedicated his career to advancing the science of foot and ankle orthopaedics.
