About

Dr. Steven Anagnost has dedicated his career to bringing the benefits of Minimally Invasive Spinal surgery to Oklahoma, pioneering new surgical techniques of MIS surgery, and teaching these techniques to surgeons throughout the world. Dr. Anagnost has been on clinical staff for the department of Orthopedic Surgery at Oklahoma State University since 1999 and has been an integral part in the training and education of many of our new orthopedic surgeons in Oklahoma.

Prior to his move to Oklahoma, Dr. Anagnost attended Emory University where his major areas of studies were Chemistry and Philosophy. He trained at the University of Tennessee for his medical degree where he concentrated on Orthopedic research and clinical training. Dr. Anagnost then performed his residency in Orthopedics at the renowned University of Louisville department of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Anagnost then completed additional training in spinal surgery at the prestigious Leatherman Spine Institute.

Dr. Anagnost has also been recognized for his multiple research projects, including the Top Research Paper of 2000 for his research on smoking and its effects on spinal surgery outcomes.

Above all, Dr. Steven Anagnost has been recognized as one of the leading innovators in United States for Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgical techniques and procedures. He has developed new tools and instrumentations used throughout the world, to improve Minimally Invasive Spinal surgery outcomes. His patients have shown that Dr. Anagnost outcomes for patient improvement, length of hospital stay, blood loss, and cost all outperform the Oklahoma surgical averages, as well as the National Surgical averages for patient outcomes.
