Joseph B. Scarcella, MD is a staff surgeon with the Cleveland Clinic's Department of Orthopedic Surgery. He has degrees in both Biology and Civil Engineering from Cleveland State University and Fenn College of Engineering, as well as a Master's Degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Akron. He attended medical school at the Case Western Reserve School of Medicine and completed a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the Mt. Sinai Medical Center of Cleveland. Dr. Scarcella joined the Cleveland Clinic in 2009 after 16 years inprivate practice in the Cleveland area.
Dr. Scarcella's primary interests are total hip and knee replacement, including partial knee replacement, general hand surgery and arthroscopic surgery of theknee and shoulder. Dr. Scarcella has been involved with local area high schools as team physician since 1991, and also was an assistant physician with the Cleveland Indians in 2004 and 2005.
