Gabriella Ode, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in knee, shoulder and elbow surgery within the Upstate of South Carolina. After completing residency training at Atrium Health/OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, North Carolina, she completed a fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at the world-renowned Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. After her fellowship, she traveled across France, gaining additional experience in shoulder surgery from world-renowned shoulder experts Pascal Boileau, Phillip Collin, and Lionel Neyton.
Dr. Ode has previously served as the assistant team physician for the Brooklyn Nets of the NBA and NCAA Division I Iona College. Currently she is a team physician for Clemson University.
Her surgical expertise includes rotator cuff and labral repair, complex arthroscopic and open shoulder stabilization, shoulder arthroplasty including reverse shoulder arthroplasty and revision arthroplasty, knee ligament reconstruction and cartilage restoration. A dedicated orthopedic researcher, Dr. Ode has over 50 peer-reviewed articles and presentations, both nationally and internationally. Her research interests include optimizing orthopedic resident training, increasing diversity within orthopedic surgery, returning athletes to sport and outcomes of shoulder arthroplasty and knee cartilage restoration. She currently serves on several national orthopedic committees and as a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals within orthopedic surgery, sports medicine and shoulder surgery. In 2021, she was awarded the North American Traveling Fellowship by the American Orthopaedic Association (AOA), an honor considered to be one of the most exclusive in the field of orthopedic surgery.
