About
-
Dr. Fillingham is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon. He graduated from Dartmouth College with honors majoring in Biophysical Chemistry. He received his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. After completing a residency in orthopedic surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, he received specialty fellowship training in hip and knee replacements at the Rothman Institute.
Dr. Fillingham’s goal is to work with patients to identify the appropriate non-surgical or surgical treatment to help relieve their pain and restore the function of their hip and knee. He strives to educate patients regarding their condition and their treatment options to allow for a shared decision-making process.
Dr. Fillingham has a personal connection to joint replacements as he observed his mother suffer for years with disabling pain from osteoarthritis in both her knees. Eventually, she decided that enough was enough and she had her knees replaced. By witnessing the dramatically positive impact of seeing the result of her undergoing knee replacements, this convinced Dr. Fillingham to devote himself to providing the same outcome for his patients by specializing in hip and knee replacements.
